Men’s Golfer of the Week

Nathan Franks  South Carolina
Jr. Roebuck, S.C.
  • Recorded his first career win at the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate (Feb. 3-4), winning by four shots over teammate Rafe Reynolds.
  • Posted a career-best 54-hole score of 204 (-12) and was the only player in the 79-man field to get to double-digit under par with his total score.
  • He shot 68-66-72 and his second-round score of 66 (-6) was a season best, one off tying a career low score.

Men’s Golfer of the Week

Daniel Rodrigues  Texas A&M
Sr. Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal
  • Rodrigues tied for fifth place at Arizona National Invitational Tournament at the famed Omni Tucson National with a 15-under 201 score.
  • After opening the tournament with a 2-under 70, he followed up with a 66 and closed out with a season-best 65.
  • His 15-under tally was a collegiate career best for a three-round tournament.
  • His final round included six birdies in addition to an eagle on his final hole for the 7-under tally.
  • It marked his second consecutive top-5 finish and third straight top-10.

Men’s Golfer of the Week

Jack Lundin  Missouri
Sr. Sioux Falls, S.D.
  • In a field that included 11 schools ranked in the top 60 nationally, senior Jack Lundin finished fifth overall at -15
  • Lundin’s 201 tally is a career-best score (by two strokes), while also tying for the ninth-best score in school history
  • The senior also helped the Tigers to a fifth-place team finish, topping SEC rival and No. 25 Texas A&M by one stroke
  • Lundin led the Tigers during an 830 tournament – marking the seventh-best score in school history
  • Overall, Lundin carded three eagles and 16 birdies over the 54-hole tournament.

Men’s Freshman of the Week

Drew Wilson  Mississippi State
Fr. Potts Camp, Miss.
  • Finished tied for third at the 2024 Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate
  • Was the highest placing freshman, and third highest placing SEC golfer at the event.
  • Was named to the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate All-Tournament Team.
  • Shot a career-low, 7 under 65 in the second round. Tied for the lowest round by a Bulldog golfer this year.
  • Recorded third-lowest round by an SEC Freshman this season.

Men’s Freshman of the Week

Luke Poulter  Florida
Fr. Orlando, Fla.
  • Finished 6h individually at the Sea Best Invitational.
  • Had a 54-hole score of 210 (E).
  • Shot a round-three of score of 67 (-3).
  • Tied for fourth in the field with 12 birdies.

Women’s Golfer of the Week

Ingrid Lindblad  LSU
Gr. Halmstad, Sweden
  • Finished solo second in the first tournament of the spring semester at the Puerto Rico Classic with a 54-hole total of 8-under 208. Posted rounds of 71-69-68.
  • Low SEC player among the five teams from the league in the tournament.
  • 11 birdies and one eagle in the event. Played the par 5s in 6-under par.
  • Added to her school record total of 37 top 10s in 44 career LSU starts and it was her 28th top 5 finish.
  • Helped Tigers to a second place finish.

Women’s Golfer of the Week

Hannah Darling  South Carolina
Jr. Midlothian, Scotland
  • Went 3-0 in matches to help the No. 6 Gamecocks to the team’s second win of the season at the Therese Hession Regional Team Challenge (Feb. 3-5) out west in Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.
  • The team defeated Arizona, No. 7 Oregon and No. 1 Wake Forest en route to the title.
  • Darling led the team in birdies and total holes won in her three match victories.
  • She defeated WAGR No. 40 Carolina Lopez-Chacarra 2&1 in the team’s 4-1 victory over the top-ranked Demon Deacons. Darling shot 67 (-4) in the 18-hole match.
  • She also notched a 5&4 win over WAGR No. 48 Kiara Romero in the team’s 3-2 win over the seventh-ranked Ducks for a pair of top-100 wins.
  • The winning team earned a sponsor exemption for one player into the LPGA’s Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship March 21-24 at Palos Verdes Golf Club and Darling was selected to represent the Gamecocks and make her professional debut at the event.

Women’s Freshman of the Week

Maria Jose Marin  Arkansas
Fr. Cali, Colombia
  • José Marin, ranked No. 1 in the Spikemark rankings, bounced back in a major way at the Purdue Puerto Rico Classic, finishing the tournament under par for her fourth straight time as a collegiate golfer with a 1-under 215 (77-71-67).
  • Tied for 16th after jumping 24 spots on the final day thanks to her 5-under 67 in the third round, which tied a career-low round for the freshman.
  • In that final round, José Marin fired off five birdies and 13 pars, going bogeyless thru those 18 holes.
  • She shot a 71 in the second round, which helped her get back on track after a tough start to the tournament.
  • José Marin finished the tournament with nine birdies and 39 pars. As just a freshman, José Marin has registered nine rounds at par or under and five rounds in the 60s.
  • She tied for the lowest 54-hole score of all freshmen in the field.

Women’s Freshman of the Week

Ava Merrill  Vanderbilt
Fr. Johns Creek, Ga.
  • Finished T6 playing as an individual at the FAU Paradise Invitational (-2, 214).
  • Carded the lowest round of her collegiate career with a 4-under 68 in the second round.
  • Added a 1-under 71 in the final round.
