Senior guard Darrione Rogers recorded the first triple-double by a Mississippi State women’s basketball player since Dec. 16, 2000, and only the second overall in program history with 14 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists in 34 minutes in a 99-35 win over Mississippi Valley State on Friday, Dec. 29. It was the first triple-double by a SEC women’s basketball player since LSU’s Khayla Pointer on Feb. 7, 2021, and only the 40th triple-double in SEC women’s basketball history. Rogers made her fourth start of the season, filling in once more due to an injury. The triple-double was the second of Rogers‘ career; she and Iowa’s Caitlin Clark are the only two players nationally to record a triple-double each of the last two seasons. It marks the 59th game with 10-plus points, fourth with 10-plus assists and ninth with 10-plus rebounds for Rogers‘ career. She turned in 10 of Mississippi State’s 20 assists in the effort to help Mississippi State earn its largest margin of victory under head coach Sam Purcell.

Mississippi State’s Quanirah Montague finished with her first career double-double with 14 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks in only 23 minutes in a 99-35 win over Mississippi Valley State on Friday, Dec. 29. Montague surpassed career-highs in points, rebounds, blocks and minutes played in the performance and it marked her first career game with either 10-plus points or 10-plus rebounds. With the six blocks, she ties the most by a Mississippi State player this season.

Vanderbilt’s Khamil Pierre averaged 10.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, while she shot 50% (9-of-18) to help the Commodores to a pair of wins this week. Pierre opened the week by scoring 12 points and pulling down seven rebounds in 20 minutes of action off the bench in Friday’s 73-41 win over FDU. The 6-2 forward shot 55.6% (5-of-9) from the floor against the Knights. It was her sixth game this season shooting over 50% from the field. The freshman made her first collegiate start in Sunday’s 80-53 win over Radford. Pierre scored nine points and pulled down five rebounds in 24 minutes against the Highlanders.
